1 Corinthians 6:19
[19]What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
Calm down, I'm not trying to preach to you or teach you the bible, though I am capable of doing so. I just had to bring the bible verse so you can relate it to what I am about to say.
Doctor Myles Munroe said, "If you're a useful believer and you fall sick, you don't have to pray for healing for two reasons; you have been healed already, you just have to walk and act in that reality. That's one. Two, if you're useful, God won't allow you to die or allow a sickness to render you useless." (just paraphrased).
As much as I believe in Divine healing, I also believe in proper health care. Without your body, you can accomplish nothing in this life. If your body isn't in good shape, neither will your mind. Many of us cause ourselves problems by mistreating our bodies.
It is indisputable that God can heal. But you must also do your best to look after yourself. Stop putting God to the test by jeopardizing your health. I'm not sure if you've noticed, but many Nigerians take pride in their suffering. "If you know how much garri I soaked before I got this thing", "if you know how long I trekked before I could gather this money", and other unnecessary things they boast of.
I'm not saying you can't do those things sometimes because of financial constraints, but it shouldn't be something you find joy in. There is no medal for suffering, so stop the unnecessary suffering competition and start taking care of your body.
It's not just about food. Wear nice clothes, use perfumes and deodorants, take regular baths, and practice good hygiene. These are critical. Remember that cleanliness is next to Godliness. The harm that some of us are doing to our bodies will not be apparent right away; we will see the full impact of the suffering competitions when we are much older.
To cut the long story short, take good care of your body. It's the temple of God and you shouldn't defile it. Even though Apostle Paul was talking about Fornication and sexual sin, it's not just about that.
How're you doing though? How're you holding up? I'll like to hear from you.
Till when next I write to you,
