Passion or Money?
Which will you choose?
Before I say anything else, please accept my sincere apologies for sending this so late. I've been thinking about what I want to write to you for a few days now. When a topic comes to mind, I'd have written an outline and then decide it's not good enough. Well, I'm only human, and I'm going through a lot too.
But this letter isn't about me, is it? Let me not digress too much. It's just a subtle way of telling you to get rid of that thing called imposter syndrome by all means necessary. Put that content you've been hiding in your archive because you're afraid of what people will say about it out there. That action you want to take and you're worried about what people will say, once you think it's right, do it.
So, which is more important: passion or money?
I was an inquisitive child growing up. I questioned almost everything. I used to believe that everything should have a logical explanation. As time passed, I came to accept that when Nigerians are unable to provide a logical explanation for something, they attach spirituality to it and label it a mystery.
Well, I accepted the wrong thing because the truth is that there is no manual for this life. Some things are just beyond logical explanation. There are just some things you can't know, so it's better to spend your limited time on Earth doing more productive things rather than searching for what isn't lost.
Once again, I apologize for the digression. But what are your thoughts? Money or passion?
Will you prioritize your passion over money, or vice versa? Let me cite an example.
If your passion is teaching and impacting people (especially students), and you were offered a job at a company with a starting salary of #200,000 after graduation. Will you accept the company's offer or take a teaching job with a maximum salary of #70,000?
Remember that as you progress in the company, you will be promoted and your salary will rise. Will you pursue your passion because it makes you happy, or will you accept the company's offer?
I believe you can pursue money and then return to fund your passion. You'll be happy doing what you enjoy doing this way. That's what I believe, and it's entirely subjective to me. What are your thoughts?
Will you pursue your passion or your money? What good is passion if it can't easily sort your bills? But I'd like to hear from you. Remember that no one is insane. On this subject, your point of view is valid.

I agree with you. Make money to fund my passion first, although I can't do anything to make that money, and this isn't even about spirituality or morality. There are some people who are unable to do things they're not passionate about, no matter how much you attach to it.
Passion can be frustrating though, if it doesn't seem to be funding the kind of life you want.
If it can be paired though, I believe that'd be much better. Doing both at the same time so you don't feel you're losing your identity, or sense of self.
