On Acceptance and Validation
"I don't care what others think of me," or "I don't give a fuck about anyone." These two statements are the biggest lies I've ever heard. Please keep in mind that everything I want to say in this email is subjective, so you are not required to agree. You can also express your point of view.
Truth be told, no matter how much we try to avoid it, we all care about what others have to say. It's true that you shouldn't give a fuck what other people think; it's also true that you should be yourself. However, their perspectives and validations are also important.
You just don't have to be desperate to get it. You don't have to do everything in the name of seeking validation. That is where the problem lies. Many people start things they can't keep up with, but they keep pushing because they're afraid of being judged by people since they started it for the traction. That should not be the case.
If not for validation, why are you doing what you're doing? You're doing it for personal development, right? You still want people to like and accept you deep down. You don't even have to be desperate. That is what many people are affected by.
We all want to be validated. We all want to be acknowledged. In all you do, people's validation (in form of testimonials and compliments) are important. Work to the point where you don't have to ask people, they will gladly compliment and appreciate you. However, saying you don't want to be appreciated or validated is a lie (maybe to me). You're just convincing yourself that you don't care so that when people don't do it, you won't be too upset.
How're you doing though? How's the cold over there? It's weather for books if you're in school and weather for God if you're alone.
Till when next I write to you,
