Celebrate Yourself
Recent events over the past few days have shown me how good I am at what I do. Don't get me wrong: I'm not the best in the world, but I'm very good at what I do. The painful part is that I had to wait for others to make me realize that. I felt bad thinking about it because I should be the one to realize I'm good enough. It's not that I don't know I'm good; it's just that I've never believed it in the way that these people I've met in the last few days made me believe it.
And then I realized that I often focus on the big picture and tell myself that I'm not good enough because of what I haven't accomplished yet. As long as I focus too much on that, i’ll always feel inadequate. Truly, I should have a driving force and a goal in mind, but that shouldn't stop me from celebrating myself and recognizing how good I am at what I do.
So I've decided to start blowing my trumpet and celebrating myself. Because no one else will do it for me if I don't. But I'm not going to let it get into my head and make me complacent. There is a thin line between appreciating where you are and being content with where you are, which can lead to a lackadaisical approach to growth. If precautions are not taken, the former can lead to the latter.
In essence, acknowledge your abilities and tell yourself how great you are at what you do. Because if you don't, no one will, and even if they do, you'll find it difficult to accept it because you've refused to personally acknowledge how good you are. The same is true for other aspects of your life.
How're you doing though? How're you holding up? I'll like to hear from you.
Till when next I write to you,

P.S: If you’re wondering why I sent this mail late, it's because I've been working on something. It’s not an excuse though, so i’m sorry.
But then, i’ll like to show you what i’ve been working on.
